Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Toronto Public Health has launched the distribution of free soccer-themed condoms to residents and visiting fans as part of its “CondomTO” initiative to promote safe sex and reduce the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) during the global football fiesta.
The initiative comes as Toronto is scheduled to host six matches, including a Round of 32 encounter, during the 2026 World Cup co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
According to city health officials, the free condoms and other safer-sex materials are currently available at Toronto Public Health’s four sexual health clinics as well as designated community partner outlets, while supplies last.
The specially designed condom wrappers come in six football-inspired editions and different soccer-themed designs, including one named “Peaches & Cream” that features playful peach and eggplant imagery.
Toronto Public Health has a history of introducing themed sexual health campaigns during major sporting events, having previously launched similar special-edition condoms during the 2015 Pan American and ParaPan American Games.
