The Ogun State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has hailed the Supreme Court judgment reaffirming David Mark as the duly recognised National Chairman of the party, describing it as a major victory for justice and internal democracy.

In a statement issued by the state chairman, Otunba (Dr) Olufemi Soluade, the chapter congratulated Mark on his legal triumph and praised the apex court for restoring clarity to the party’s leadership structure after months of dispute.

The party also commended Rauf Aregbesola for his commitment to the ideals of the ADC and his support for democratic processes within the party.

According to the statement, the Supreme Court ruling represents a triumph of due process and the rule of law, noting that the decision to set aside the earlier Court of Appeal judgment has reaffirmed constitutional order in resolving intra-party conflicts.

The Ogun ADC said the verdict by the five-member panel led by Justice Mohammed Lawal Garba has effectively put to rest the lingering leadership crisis that had created uncertainty within the party.

It described the judgment as a reaffirmation of the legitimacy of the Mark-led National Executive Committee, adding that its recognition by the Independent National Electoral Commission marks a turning point for the party.

“The ruling provides a solid foundation for unity, reconciliation and renewed focus on the core objectives of our great party,” the statement said.

The chapter pledged its loyalty to the national leadership under Mark and called on members and stakeholders across the country to accept the judgment in good faith and rally behind the leadership.

It stressed the need for unity among party faithful, urging them to set aside differences and work collectively towards building a stronger and more formidable political platform.

The Ogun ADC further commended the judiciary for its courage and impartiality, noting that the judgment has strengthened public confidence in democratic institutions.

It reiterated that the Supreme Court remains the final arbiter in legal disputes and a critical guardian of constitutional democracy in Nigeria.

Looking ahead, the chapter said it would intensify grassroots mobilisation and strengthen party structures in line with the renewed leadership direction.

The statement expressed confidence that under Mark’s leadership, the ADC would continue to evolve as a credible alternative in Nigeria’s political landscape.

It also acknowledged the contributions of party leaders and aspirants across Ogun State and the country, noting that their experience and vision remain vital to the party’s future.

The chapter called for renewed dedication, discipline and collective responsibility among members, assuring supporters that the victory would translate into stronger internal cohesion and improved political engagement.

The Ogun ADC reaffirmed its commitment to promoting unity, inclusiveness and progressive ideals, while pledging continued support for the growth and success of the party nationwide.
