..Screening holds as scheduled
…Members warned to ignore fake structure
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State has distanced itself from a purported “Apex Committee” being circulated in some quarters, declaring that the body is neither recognized nor part of the party’s constitutional structure.
In a statement issued by the state leadership, the party cautioned members, stakeholders, and the general public against taking directives or information from the said group, describing it as unauthorized and unknown to the leadership in Ogun.
“The so-called Apex Committee is not known to or recognized by the party leadership in Ogun State. Members are advised to disregard any information or directives emanating from such a body,” the statement read.
The party also announced that the contest for the position of Deputy Financial Secretary between Hon. Dimeji Fabiyi and Hon. Rotimi George-Taylor has been put on hold by the National Executive Committee (NEC), pending further directives.
Despite the suspension of the contest, the ADC confirmed that the screening of all aspirants would proceed as earlier scheduled, alongside other planned congress activities.
The leadership emphasized its commitment to due process, transparency, and adherence to the party’s constitution, urging members to remain calm, law-abiding, and focused on the unity and progress of the party.
The statement was jointly signed by the Ogun State Chairman, Otunba Dr. Femi Soluade, and the State Secretary, Hon. Adebiyi Olusoji.
